WATER QUALITY AND relationship WITH FOOD shrimp ( TEMPERATURE )

WATER QUALITY AND relationship
WITH FOOD shrimp

To get the maximum results in the cultivation of shrimp, needs to be a good water quality. Requirements for some water quality parameters for shrimp culture is like in the table below.

Table 12. The parameters of water quality

Parameter .......................Value ..................................Feasibility
Quality of physics:
1. Temperature ............28 - 300C ................................Optimum
2. Salinity .....................15 to 25 per .............................Optimum

Quality chemical:
1. pH .............................7 - 8.5 .....................................Optimum
2. Oxygen (O)............. > 5 ppm ± 100% saturated..Optimum
3. Alkalinitas ................50 - 200 ppm CaCO3 .........Eligible
4. Ammonia (NH) 3.... 0.1 ppm .................................Maximum
5. Nitrite (NO) 2 ..........0.6 ppm................................. Maximum
6. Hydrogen sulfide..... 0.1 ppm .................................Maximum
7. Carbon dioxide ........1.5 ppm................................. Maximum

A. TEMPERATURE
Some observers found that the shrimp I can not live at temperatures less than 15 ° C or more than 40 ° C. The optimal temperature for the shrimp I was 28 ° C - 30 ° C. In addition to directly influence the turn, the temperature also indirectly affect metabolism, solubility gases, including oxygen, and various chemical reactions in the water. The higher the water temperature, the higher the rate of metabolism, which means shrimp greater consumption of oxygen, the temperature increase is even reduce the solubility of oxygen in the water. Any increase in temperature of 10 ° C, will accelerate the rate of chemical reactions of 2 times. For example, the balance of ammonia reaction: NH OH4 ---> NH2 + H2 O, will shift to the right that caused the percentage of ammonia (NH) is large. Please note that the Ammonia is more toxic than Amonium (NH OH) 4. At PH 8.0 and temperature 25 ° C, the percentage of NH3 is 5.38%, while the PH with the same temperature of 30 ° C percentage to be 7.46% NH3.
